The World  Mas-Wrestling Championship in less than three weeks

To this day, many recall his exactingness and ability to ask the members of the government involved in the organization of these events. So on Thursday, June 2, already with the rank of senator, Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation and President of the International Mas-Wrestling Federation, held a regular meeting of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of the IV Mas-wrestling World Championship.

The senator noted that it will be held on June 21-27 in Yakutsk, and it will be the unique world championship that is held in Russia this year, also included in the list of important sporting events of the country. In addition, the Absolute Mas-Wrestling World Championship will also be held, the final part of which will be held in the area of Us Khaty – during the holiday Ysyakh Tuimaada. 

Recall that on June 26, the World Mas-Wrestling Day will be celebrated for the first time. The new holiday was established on April 16, 2021 by the Presidium of the International Mas-Wrestling Federation and will be celebrated annually on the fourth Saturday of June. And therefore, in honor of this significant event, next to the sports field, will be installed the Serge of Majyny by national artist of the Republic Sakha (Yakutia), the national master-bone cutter and the master of ice sculptures Fyodor Markov. During the championship, the Anthem of the International Mas-Wrestling Federation will also be presented, the author of the text of which is national writer of Yakutia Natalia Mikhaleva-Saya, who became the winner of the competition announced by the IMWF. The IMWF Congress will be held during the championship, where the next Memorandum will be adopted.

Alexander Akimov said that participants from many countries will come to the championship, and numerous guests will also arrive for the Days of the Republic of Tatarstan in Yakutia. Famous athletes Alexander Karelin, Irina Rodnina, who visited the Manchaara Games last year, Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin and President of the Russian Olympic Committee Stanislav Pozdnyakov also promised to attend the championship. However, it is depressing that in Yakutsk on the eve of such important events, in the year of the 100th anniversary of the Yakut ASSR, the condition of the transport arteries of the capital is far from satisfactory.

The members of the Organizing Committee reported on the progress of preparation.

So, Deputy Minister for Physical Culture and Sports Alexander Bugaev said that according to applications, 230 people – athletes, heads of delegations, coaches and judges – from 43 countries of the world, including 19 member states of the International Federation and representatives of the International Student League from 24 countries are expected to arrive today. They will be accommodated in three places – in the hotel of the Triumph Sports Training Center, the NEFU Dormitory No. 9/2 and the Azimut Hotel. Meals for the participants of the championship will be organized in their places of residence and during the competition – in the Triumph canteen. Vladimir Ivanitsky's film crew will work on federal TV channels to cover the events of the championship. It will be possible to follow the course of the competition on live broadcasts of the NBC “Sakha”, as well as on the TV channels “Boets”, “Match” and “Sportivniy”.

Alexander Ilyin, NEFU Vice-Rector for Extracurricular Work and Youth Policy, Head of the Rector's office, informed about the preparation of the university dormitory for the reception of guests. During the pandemic, a covid ward was located in this building. Now this building has been completely disinfected several times, general cleaning has been carried out, cosmetic repairs are being carried out. Breakfast and dinner of athletes will be organized there, on the ground floor.

Deputy Minister of Transport and Road Facilities Alexey Filippov reported that Yakutia Airlines will provide flights for participants of the championship from Moscow, Novosibirsk and Vladivostok and back at corporate rates. Also, 10 new buses, luxury cars with traffic police escort will be allocated for their transportation around the city.

First Deputy Minister of Foreign Relations and Peoples' Affairs of the RS (Y) Diana Stepanova reported on the activities of the department for obtaining visas for arriving foreign athletes.

Deputy Minister of Culture and Spiritual Development Marina Silina said that the Ministry has extensive experience in conducting a cultural program of such sports forums, so everything is going according to plan.

The Russian national team is already preparing for the championship at the training camp at the Triumph Sports Center, which is funded by the Ministry of Sports of the country, besides additional funds have been allocated. So our squad has every chance of a successful performance, said Mikhail Gulyaev, president of the All-Russian Mas-Wrestling Federation. 

In addition to Yakut athletes, the team includes mas-wrestlers from Russian regions - Ivan Galkin (125 kg) and Viktor Kolibabchuk (125+ kg), Mokhinur Abduzoyirova (85 kg) and Kristina Kochesokova (absolute category). 

On June 8, the award attributes of the championship will be presented, and athletes will receive a new uniform and equipment of the Russian national team in a solemn atmosphere.
