In Yakutsk preparations for the Congress meeting of the International mas-wrestling Federation discussed

The list of key issues considered by the presidium includes changes to the competition rules, calendar plan for 2019, and further prospects for the development of mas-wrestling. The structure of the presidium of the International Federation was also considered.

“According to the calendar plan for 2019, there are many serious events ahead: holding a multi-stage World Cup, determining the venue for the absolute world championship and a number of international tournaments. In addition, we are considering the issue of changes in the rules and clarification of those controversial issues that have been identified. We will collectively address these issues,” said the Minister of Sports of Yakutia, Innokenti Grigoriev.

At the same time, he noted that the changes that are underway do not mean radical changes. The rules are adjusted annually by the Mas-wrestling Congress, which this year takes place in Yakutsk. Bouts at the current World Championship will be held under the same rules. According to the First Vice-President of the International Federation of Mas-Wrestling Alexander Kim-Kimen, this year more than 30 events were held on all continents of the planet. All of them were held on a high organizational level. “I would like to note that we also traditionally continue to hold mas-wrestling in the program of Arnold Classic festival, and the 38th Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger invites our delegation annually. He is very fond of mas-wrestling, and we even invited him to the upcoming world championship. But, unfortunately, due to his busy schedule, he could not find time. We hope in the future he will still visit our republic,” added Alexander Kim-Kimen.

It should be noted that the presidium meeting was a preparatory stage for the Congress meeting of the International Mas-Wrestling Federation, which will be held on November 24 within the framework of the 3rd World Championship. The presidium includes presidents of national mas-wrestling federations participating in competitions.
