Sports Ambassador Khayyam Orujov and Arif Shakhlarov presented mas-wrestling at the Novruz holiday in Baku

In Khazar district of Baku on the territory of historical and ethnographic museum-reserve «Gala» mass celebrations in honor of the holiday «Nauryz» were held. Among the honored guests were heads of executive authorities, deputies of the Milli Mejlis, elders of the district, veterans of war and labor.

The Azerbaijan National Sports Association was the organizer of the sports part of the event. Demonstrations and seminars on various traditional and national sports were organized.

Mas-wrestling was represented by numerous champions of the country, prize-winners of the World and European Championships Hayam Orujov, who is «Ambassador of Sport in Azerbaijan for 2024» and Arif Shahlarov.

The participants were told about the history of mas-wrestling, explained the rules, showed the basic techniques. After that, everyone had the opportunity to try their hand at mas-wrestling and appreciate the beauty of this sport. The strongest participants of the presentation events were invited to the national championship, which will be held on March 27 in Guba, the sports capital of Azerbaijan in 2024.
