Regulation

on holding International mas-wrestling tournament

in memory of Marsel Matej 

Aims and objectives

2024 International mas-wrestling tournament in memory of Marsel Matej is the official event of the International Mas-wrestling Federation and is held to promote and develop mas-wrestling in the world and solves the following tasks:

- perpetuating the memory of the honored coach of Slovakia Marsel Matej;

- determination the strongest mas-wrestling athletes;

- improvement of sportsmanship of athletes;

- strengthening friendly sporting relationship among countries.  

Date and venue

International mas-wrestling tournament in memory of Marsel Matej is held on August 15-18, 2024 in Bardejov, Slovakia, at city sport hall on address: Mlynska Str., NO. 1.

Arrival day – August 15, departure day – August 18, 2024. 

Competition Program: *

August 15 (Thursday) - arrival day

August 16 (Friday)

10.00 – 10.30 – work of Commission on registration and admission of participants

10.30 – 11.30 – weigh-in and drawing of participants:

- girls 65 kg;

- women 65 kg, 85+ kg;

- men 80 kg, 90 kg, 105 kg.

11.30 – 12.30 – meeting of the Ground Jury with team representatives

12.30 – 13.30 – solemn reception

13.30 – 15.00 – tour around the Bardejov city, visiting UNESCO cultural heritage

August 17 (Saturday) – competition day

16.00 – 16.30 – opening ceremony

16.30 – 18.30 – preliminary, semifinal and final bouts

18.30 – 19.00 – awarding ceremony

20.00 – solemn reception

August 18 (Sunday) – departure day

Management

General management of preparation and holding of competition is carried out by the International Mas-wrestling Federation, Slovak Mas-wrestling Association.

Direct responsibility of holding the event carried on the Ground Jury, approved by the International Mas-wrestling Federation. 

Participation terms

Allowed to participate athletes by personal invitation of Slovak Mas-wrestling Association, passed medical examination and permitted to engage in power sports.

Participants are required to perform in sportswear in accordance with the rules of the International Mas-Wrestling Federation.  

Conditions for holding competition and determination of winners

Competitions are of a personal nature and held according to the current rules of the International Mas-Wrestling Federation by a round robin system.

5 (five) athletes in a weight category will compete by personal invitation of Slovak Mas-wrestling Association. Slovak Mas-wrestling Association, as the host country is given the right to nominate 2 (two) athletes in each weight category. 

Competition athletes divided into the next age categories:

1. Girls 17-18 y.o./2006-2007 years of birth;

2. Men and women: 18 y.o. and over.

Age of participants determines by date of birth.

Weight categories:

- girls 65 kg;

- women 65 kg, 85+ kg;

- men 80 kg, 90 kg, 105 kg.

Participants grant the organizers the right to photograph, film or otherwise use the voice, appearance and name. Further, the content can be displayed, distributed or otherwise used in merchandising and advertising to promote the sport in any media now known and possible in the future. The rights are granted indefinitely and without additional compensation.

The final results (protocols) on paper and electronic form should be given to the International Mas-Wrestling Federation in 2 (two) weeks after the event is over. 

Insurance

Participation in the competitions is allowed only in case of presence of the insurance of life and health from accidents (original), which is submitted to the commission for registration and admission of participants.

Insurance fees of the athletes carry the sending organizations. 

Safety

Competitions to be held in sport buildings, agreeable to the standards of corresponding standard rules of law, functioning in the territory of Slovakia and directed to provide public order and safety of participants and spectators.

Qualified medical personnel should present in the competition venue. 

Financing

All costs connected with the preparation and holding of competition, under the terms of the equity, carry the International Mas-wrestling Federation, Slovak Mas-wrestling Association, State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) «Republican Center of National Sports named after Vasiliy Manchaary», ANO «World Mas-wrestling Center» and Mas-Wrestling Development Fund «Planet Mas-Wrestling».

The costs of accommodation of 30 (thirty) invited athletes and 1 (one) representative of team delegation is carried out by Slovak Mas-wrestling Association, other expenses (travel, meals, insurance, visa costs) are carry by the sending organizations.

A free transfer for participants to be provided from Budapest International airport (Hungary) to Bardejov (Slovakia) and back.    

Awarding

Top three athletes in each weight category to be awarded with medals, diplomas, and money prize with amount:

1^st place – €150;

2^nd place – €100;

3^rd places – €50. 

Applications

Applications agreed by Slovak Mas-wrestling Association, and copies of required documents opportunely to be submitted on address:

- Slovak Mas-wrestling Association: janmatej47@gmail.com.

The national flag of the country, anthem on electronic media, nominal and technical applications signed by the head of the national mas-wrestling federation and a doctor, as well as the originals of the following documents for each athlete are presented to the commission for admission of participants to competitions:

- passport, certifying the nationality of the participant or a representing country’s residence permit;

- life and health insurance policy against accidents (original). 

Visa

Delegations of countries that require a VISA to stay in Slovakia must send to the organizers until July 1, 2024 a list of participants for visa processing, indicating full names, gender, passport numbers (indicating the date of issue and expiration date), dates of birth, a scanned copy of the first informative passport pages. 

Marketing and advertising

The Organizing Committee guarantees maintenance of Sponsor rights by the partners and sponsors of the International Mas-Wrestling Federation, appointed in the appropriate Agreements. 

Media

The Organizing Committee guarantees accordance of the appropriate conditions of work on the event for accredited media representatives in accordance with the Statement of the International Mas-Wrestling Federation on Mass-Media. 

This regulation is the official challenge to the competition.
