Regulation on holding mas-wrestling competitions 

within the V World Nomad Games - 2024

The aim of this competition is to popularize traditional games and competitions of the peoples of the world within the sports program of the 5^th World Nomad Games from September 8-13, 2024 in the city of Astana (hereinafter – WNG).

The task is to strengthen friendly sports relations between countries, to contribute to the preservation of the historical cultural heritage of the peoples of the world, to popularize and promote mas-wrestling, to determine the strongest athletes in mas-wrestling.

Competition will take place at Alau Ice Palace located on address: Kazakhstan, Astana, Kabanbai Batyr Avenue, building 47.

Arrival day – September 7, 2024, departure day – September 11, 2024.

Competition program*:

September 7 (Saturday) – arrival day, delegation accreditation

September 8 (Sunday)

10:00-12:00 – work of mandate commission on registration and admission of participants;

14:00-15:00 – weigh-in and drawing of participants;

- men 65 kg, 70 kg, 80 kg;

- women 55 kg.

15:00-16:00 – meeting of the Ground Jury with coaches and team representatives.  

18:00 – Solemn opening ceremony of the 5^th WNG (by program of the 5^th WNG)

September 9 (Monday) – first competitive day

11:00-13:00 – preliminary bouts

- men 65 kg, 70 kg, 80 kg;

- women 55 kg.

16:30-18.00 – semifinal and final bouts

18:30-19:30 – awarding ceremony (by program of the 5^th WNG)

19:30-20:30 – weigh-in and drawing of participants;

- men 90 kg, 105 kg;

- women 65 kg, 75 kg.

September 10 (Tuesday) – second competitive day

11:00-13:00 – preliminary bouts

- men 90 kg, 105 kg;

- women 65 kg, 75 kg.

16:30-18:00 – semifinal and final bouts

18:00-19:00 – awarding ceremony (by program of the 5^th WNG)

September 11 (Wednesday) – departure day

3. Management

General management of preparation and holding of competition is carried out by the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of World Nomad Games 2024, International Mas-wrestling Federation, World Ethnosport Confederation.

Direct responsibility of holding the competition carried on the Directorate for the preparation and holding of the 5^th World Nomad Games and Ground Jury, approved by Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of World Nomad Games and agreed by International Mas-wrestling Federation.

4. Participation terms

In mas-wrestling competition within the 5^th WNG allowed to participate a world national teams regardless of the continent. Allowed to participate athletes 18 y.o. and over, passed medical examination and permitted to engage in power sports by the application of a National Mas-wrestling Federations or authorized bodies of physical culture and sport. Participant’s age determines on the competition day.

National Mas-wrestling Federations are entitled to be represented up to 8 (eight) athletes, one athlete in a weight category. Duplication in a weight category are not permitted.

Team composition – 11 people: 8 athletes, 1 head of delegation, 1 coach and 1 referee. 

Participants are required to perform in sports form in accordance with the rules of the International Mas-wrestling Federation (red or blue mas-wrestling shorts (by draw) and in sports shoes without spikes with soft soles.

Allowed to wear a parade uniform with logos of event organizers and sponsor organization.

Participants grant the organizers the right to photograph, film or otherwise use the voice, appearance and name. Further, the content can be displayed, distributed or otherwise used in merchandising and advertising to promote the sport in any media now known and possible in the future. The rights are granted indefinitely and without additional compensation.

5. Visa

Delegations of countries that require a VISA to stay in the territory of Kazakhstan must send to the organizers in advance a list of participants for visa processing, indicating full names, gender, passport numbers (indicating the date of issue and expiration date), dates of birth, a scanned copy of the first informative passport pages.

6. Conditions for holding competition

Competitions are of a personal nature and held according to the current rules of the International Mas-Wrestling Federation.

Depending on the number of participants in the weight categories, in the competition system changes are possible according to the competition rules:

− for 7 or more athletes in the weight category according to the system with elimination after two defeats, divided into groups "A" and "B";

− for 6, 5, 4 or 3 athletes in a weight category, a round robin system is used;

− for 2 or 1 athlete in a weight category, the weight category is added to the next one.

Mas-wrestling competition in the program of the WNG is held in next weight categories:

- men: 65 kg, 70 kg, 80 kg, 90 kg, 105 kg;

- women: 55 kg, 65 kg, 75 kg.

The final results (protocols) on paper and electronic form should be given to the International Mas-Wrestling Federation in 2 (two) weeks after the sport competition is over.

7. Insurance

Participation in the competition is allowed only in case of presence of the insurance of life and health from accidents (original) for each athlete, which is submitted to the commission for registration and admission of participants. Insurance fees of the athletes carry the sending organizations.

8. Safety

Competitions to be held in sport buildings, agreeable to the standards of corresponding standard rules of law, functioning in the territory of Kazakhstan and directed to provide public order and safety of participants and spectators, in the presence of acts of operational readiness of sports buildings for the activities, approved in the prescribed order.

Qualified medical personnel should present in the competition venue.

9. Financing

All costs connected with the preparation and holding of competition, under the terms of the equity, carry the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of World Nomad Games, International Mas-wrestling Federation, World Ethnosport Confederation, State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) «Republican Center of National Sports named after V. Manchaary», ANO «World Mas-wrestling Center» and Mas-Wrestling Development Fund «Planet Mas-Wrestling».

The costs of accommodation and 3 meals a day of 8 (eight) athletes, 1 head of delegation, 1 coach, 1 referee are carry by the Organizing Committee. The costs of entry visas, travel costs and insurance of all participants are carry by the sending organizations.

10. Awarding

Top three athletes in each weight category to be awarded with medals and diplomas.

11. Applications

Countries wishing to participate in the mas-wrestling of the WNG shall fill in an electronic application of the established format on the official website of WNG Astana 2024 www.worldnomadgames.kz by July 15, 2024, containing the following information:

- list of members of the official delegation of a participating country and requests by kinds of sports;

- application forms of participants of the competitions in accordance with the form approved by the Directorate (athletes, coaches, referees, representatives) with photos attached;

- scanned copies of passports of all members of the delegation, visas (if required for a certain country) and insurance documents.

In order to ensure timely meeting of sports delegations at the places of arrival, the participating countries should inform the dates of arrival and departure to the Republic of Kazakhstan by August 15, 2024.

The final deadline for registration of application forms for participation in the 5^th WNG is July 15, 2024. The host has the right to refuse a delegation, a team or athlete to participate in the Games, even if the application for participation was submitted within the prescribed time, the refusal shall be accompanied by a detailed explanation of the reasons.

Preliminary applications with the obligatory indication of the number of athletes, coaches, and representatives are submitted until July 15, 2024 on address:

Applications are submitted to the Commission for registration and admission of participants to competition, signed by the head of the national federation and the doctor, as well as the following documents for each athlete:

- passport;

- life and health insurance policy against accidents (original);

- medical certificates with a doctor’s visa on admission to the competition.

12. Marketing and advertising

In terms of marketing, the rights belong to the Directorate of the 5^th World Nomad Games. The posting of information about federations, associations and other sports organizations that are related to or participate in WNG is carried out on the basis of the developed sponsorship package. Also, the final result of the development will be considered agreement with the management of WNG and its marketing department.

13. Media

The Organizing Committee guarantees appropriate working conditions for accredited media representatives in accordance with the rules of the Directorate of the 5^th World Nomadic Games.
