Aims and Objectives

2025 Asian Mas-wrestling Championship among men and women is an official sport event of the International Mas-wrestling Federation and is held to promote and develop mas-wrestling globally by completing the following tasks:
  • determining the strongest Asian mas-wrestling athletes;
  • improving athletes’ sportsmanship;
  • strengthening friendly sporting relations between the countries.
Dates and Venue

2025 Asian Mas-wrestling Championship among men and women is held on 12–16 October 2025 in Olmaliq, Uzbekistan.

Arrival day – 12 October 2025, departure day – 16 October 2025.

Competition Program*:
  • 12 October (Sunday) – arrival day.
  • 13 October (Monday):
    • 10.00 – 12.00 – registration and admission of the participants.
    • 14.00 – 16.00 – weigh-in and drawing of the participants:
      • men 90 kg, 105 kg, 125 kg, 125+ kg;
      • women 70 kg, 75 kg, 85 kg, 85+ kg.
    • 16.30 – 17.30 – meeting of the referees with the coaches and team representatives.
  • 14 October (Tuesday) – first competition day:
    • 10.00 – 17.00 – preliminary, semi-final and final matches:
      • men 90 kg, 105 kg, 125 kg, 125+ kg;
      • women 70 kg, 75 kg, 85 kg, 85+ kg.
    • 17.00 – 18.00 – weigh-in and drawing of the participants:
      • men 60 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 75 kg, 80 kg, 85 kg;
      • women 55 kg, 60 kg, 65 kg.
  • 15 October (Wednesday) – second competition day
    • 10.00 – 16.00 – preliminary, semi-final and final matches:
      • men 60 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 75 kg, 80 kg, 85 kg;
      • women 55 kg, 60 kg, 65 kg.
  • 16 October (Thursday) – departure day.

Competition Management

The general management of preparation and holding of the Championship is carried out by the International Mas-wrestling Federation, Asian Mas-wrestling Federation, Uzbekistan Maswrestling Federation and the World Mas-wrestling Center.

The direct conduct of the competition is entrusted to the Grand Jury, approved by the International Mas-wrestling Federation.

Participants and Terms

Athletes who have reached the age of 18 the day before the start of the competition and older, who have passed a medical examination and have no contraindications to strength sports are allowed to participate in the competition, on applications from national federations or authorized bodies.

To participate in the competition, national mas-wrestling federations have the right to put up to 17 (seventeen) athletes, but no more than 3 (three) athletes in a weight category; as the host party, the Uzbekistan Mas-wrestling Federation – up to 34 (thirty-four) athletes, but no more than 4 (four)  athletes in a weight category.

National Mas-wrestling Federations are to include in their delegation 1 (one) referee of the corresponding referee’s category to work as part of the competition panel of referees.

Participants are required to compete in sports uniform in accordance with the Rules of the International Mas-wrestling Federation.

The competitions are individual and team and are held according to the current Rules of the International Mas-wrestling Federation.

Depending on the number of participants in the weight categories, changes may be made to the competition system in accordance with the competition rules:
  • with 7 and more athletes in a weight category under the system of eliminations after two defeats, the athletes are divided into Groups A and B;
  • with 6, 5, 4 or 3 athletes in a weight category, a round robin system is applied;
  • with 2 or 1 athlete in a weight category, the weight category is added to the next weight category.
Weight Categories:
  • (10) – men: 60 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 75 kg, 80 kg, 85 kg, 90 kg, 105 kg, 125 kg, 125+ kg;
  • (7) – women: 55 kg, 60 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 75 kg, 85 kg, 85+ kg.
The weigh-in is carried out one day before the competition within 90 minutes.

The team result is calculated by the sum of points depending on the number of the medals won:
  • 1st place – 12 points;
  • 2nd place – 8 points;
  • 3d place – 5 points.
With the equal number of points in two or more teams, the advantage goes to the team winning the greatest number of 1st, 2nd, 3d and so on places.

Participants grant the organizers the right to photograph, film and otherwise use their voice, appearance and name and then demonstrate, distribute or otherwise use in merchandising and advertising to popularize the sport in any media currently known and possible in the future. The rights are  granted in perpetuity and without additional compensation.

The final results (protocols) on paper and electronic media are submitted within two weeks from the end of the sporting event.

Insurance

Participation in the competition is possible only with the original contract of life and health insurance against accidents for each participant, which is submitted to the commission for registration and admission of participants.

Insurance of participants is carried out at the expense of the sending organizations.

Safety

The competition is held at sports facilities that meet the requirements of the relevant regulatory legal acts in force in the territory of Uzbekistan and aimed at ensuring public order and the safety of participants and spectators, in the presence of acts of readiness of sports facilities for holding events  approved in the established manner.

Qualified medical personnel must be present at the competition venues.

The participants in the competition are required to follow generally accepted norms of social distancing in crowded places and comply with the requirements for organizing and holding official physical education and sports events in the territory of Uzbekistan in the context of the ongoing risks of the spread of COVID-19. Representatives of national teams must provide their athletes with personal protective equipment and disinfectants.

Financing

All expenses related to the preparation and holding of the competition are borne by the International Mas-wrestling Federation, the Asian Mas-wrestling Federation, the Uzbekistan Maswrestling Federation and the World Mas-wrestling Center, on a shared participation basis.

Travel expenses for participants (athletes, representatives, coaches, referees) of the 2025 Asian Mas-wrestling Championship among men and women (travel, insurance, visa expenses) are borne by the sending organizations.

Expenses related to transfers in the host country, meals and accommodation for six (6) organizers, including the Technical Delegate from the International Mas-wrestling Federation, are covered by the Uzbekistan Mas-wrestling Federation.

Awarding

Top three athletes in every weight category are awarded with medals, diplomas and valuable prizes.

Top three teams are awarded with cups and diplomas.

The Commission on admission of participants to the competition accepts applications signed by the head of a national mas-wrestling federation and a doctor, as well as the following original documents for each participant:
  • passport identifying the participant’s nationality or a residence permit of a country represented by them;
  • life and health insurance policy against accidents (original).
Visa

Delegations of the countries that need a visa to stay in Uzbekistan must send a list of participants to the organizers in advance for visa processing, indicating their full names, gender, passport numbers (indicating the date of issue and expiration date), dates of birth, and a scanned copy of the first  information page of the passport.

Marketing and Advertising

The Organizing Committee guarantees the observance of sponsorship rights to the partners and sponsors of the International Mas-wrestling Federation, as stipulated in the relevant agreements, including the marketing guidelines of the International Mas-wrestling Federation.

Media

The Organizing Committee guarantees the provision of appropriate working conditions at the event for accredited media representatives in accordance with the International Mas-wrestling Federation Media Guidelines.

This regulation is the official challenge to the competition.
