REGULATIONS
on holding of the Cup of Pharaoh International mas-wrestling tournament
Aims and objectives
International mas-wrestling tournament «Cup of Pharaoh» (hereinafter referred to as the Cup) is held with the aim of promotion and development mas-wrestling in the world, as well as presentations of Egypt to athletes from foreign countries and aimed to:
- strengthening friendly international sports ties and cooperation between the peoples of the world;
- determining the strongest athletes.
Date and venue
Competitions are held on October 9-12, 2026 in Alexandria, Egypt, at the address: Green Plaza sports / 15 May road – Smuhaa.
Program:
October 7 (Wednesday) – organizers arrival day
October 8 (Thursday)
10.00 – 12.00 – master classes on mas-wrestling for local athletes
14.00 – 16.00 – seminar for referees
October 9 (Friday) – participants arrival day
10.00 – 14.00 – weighing and admission of participants
16.00 – 18.00 – master classes on mas-wrestling
18.00 – 19.00 – meeting of the panel of referees with team representatives
October 10 (Saturday) – competition day
10.00 – 12.00 – qualifying and elimination bouts
14.00 – 14.30 – opening ceremony, participants parade
14.30 – 16.00 – consolation and semi-final bouts
16.00 – 17.00 – final bouts
17.00 – awarding ceremony.
October 11 (Sunday) – Egyptian culture day and excursions.
October 12 (Monday) – departure day.
Management
General management of preparation of the Cup is a joint effort between the International Mas-wrestling Federation, Egyptian Jiu-Jitsu Federation, State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) «Republican Center of National Sports named after Vasiliy Manchaary», Mas-wrestling Development Fund «Planet Mas-wrestling».
Participation terms
The Cup is held as an individual championship among men and women aged 18 and older in the following weight categories:
- men: 65 kg, 80 kg, 90 kg, 105 kg, 125 kg, 125+ kg;
- women: 75 kg, 75+ kg.
Participants are required to perform in sportswear in accordance with the rules of the International Mas-wrestling Federation:
men – shorts for mas-wrestling (red and blue), sports shoes without spikes;
women – shorts for mas-wrestling (red and blue), sports jersey or T-shirt, sport shoes without spikes.
In accordance with the rules, athletes are permitted to use:
- belts no wider than 10 cm.;
- knee pads or elbow sleeves no wider than 30 cm.;
- sports tape;
- liquid or powdered magnesium, non-stick.
Competition Format:
- categories with 5 or less than 5 participants to be held according to a round robin system;
- categories with 6 or more athletes to be held according to a double-elimination system.
- categories with less than 4 athletes will be joined with the above weight categories.
Depending on the number of participants, a change in the system of the competition is possible.
Awarding
Top three athletes (1st, 2nd and two 3rd places) in each weight category are awarded with medals, diplomas and memorable prizes.
Insurance of participants
Participation in the competitions is allowed only in case of presence a life and health insurance policy against accidents (original) for each person, which is submitted to the commission for registration and admission of participants.
Insurance fees of the athletes carry the sending organizations.
Safety
Competitions to be held in sport buildings, agreeable to the standards of corresponding standard rules of law, functioning in the territory of Egypt and directed to provide public order and safety of participants and spectators.
Qualified medical personnel should present in the competition venue.
Financing
All costs connected with the preparation and holding of competitions, under the terms of the equity, carry the International Mas-wrestling Federation, Egyptian Jiu-Jitsu Federation, State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) «Republican Center of National Sports named after Vasiliy Manchaary», Mas-wrestling Development Fund «Planet Mas-wrestling».
The costs of preparing the competition venue and purchasing sports equipment to be covered by the Egyptian Jiu-Jitsu Federation. The host country also provides a free transfer from international airports to the competitions venue and back for participating national teams.
Expenses of the Cup’s participants (travel, accommodation, meals, insurance, and visa expenses) are carrying by the sending organizations.
The International Mas-Wrestling Federation provides qualified refereeing for the Cup.
The International Mas-wrestling Federation provides awards and souvenirs for the Cup participants and organizers.
Visa
Delegations, which are needed VISA for entrance and stay on the territory of Egypt, shall require an invitation at the address: info@egyptianjiu-jitsufederation.com.
Application for participation
Preliminary applications (with indicating the number of athletes, coaches and representatives) for participation in the tournament should be submitted until September 10, 2026:
