Regulations on holding
the VIII World Mas-wrestling Championship among men and women
by weight categories and in the absolute weight category
Aims and objectives
The VIII World Mas-wrestling Championship among men and women in weight categories and in the absolute weight category (hereinafter Championship) is the official event of the International Mas-wrestling Federation and is held to promote and develop mas-wrestling in the world and solves the following tasks:
- determination the strongest mas-wrestling athletes;
- improvement of athletes sportsmanship;
- strengthening friendly sporting relationship among countries.
Date and venue
Championship is held on November 26-30, 2026 in Kazan, Russia, at Martial Arts Palace Ak Bars on address: 1G, F. Amirkhan Str.
Arrival day – November 26, departure day – November 30, 2026.
Management
General management of preparation and holding of Championship is carried out by the International Mas-wrestling Federation, All-Russian Mas-wrestling Federation, Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Culture, Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, ANO "World Center of Mas-wrestling" and the Mas-Wrestling Development Fund "Planet Mas-Wrestling".
Direct responsibility of holding the competitions carried on the Organizing Committee on holding and preparation the Championship and Ground Jury, approved by the International Mas-wrestling Federation.
Participation terms
The championship is held among men and women in weight categories and in the absolute weight category.
Allowed to participate athletes aged of 18 (at least before the day of competitions) and over, passed medical examination and permitted to engage in power sports by the application of the National Mas-Wrestling Federations or authorized bodies. An athlete must have a passport or other document certifying citizenship of the country he/she represents at the competitions.
A National Mas-Wrestling Federations are entitled to be represented up to 14 (fourteen) athletes: 9 (nine) in men’s weight category and 5 (five) in women’s weight category, but no more than 3 (three) athletes in a weight category.
For the absolute weight category National Mas-Wrestling Federations are entitled to be represented up to 8 (eight) athletes, but no more than 4 (four) athletes in a category.
National Federations are recommended to include in their delegation 1 (one) referee of the corresponding referee’s category to work as part of the judging panel of the competition by the agreement of the International Mas-wrestling Federation.
Participants are required to perform in sportswear No.1 or No.3 in accordance with the rules of the International Mas-wrestling Federation.
Conditions for holding competitions and determination of winners
Championship is held according to the current 2025 International Mas-wrestling Rules.
Depending on the number of participants in the weight categories, in the competition system changes are possible according to the competition rules:
− for 7 or more athletes in the weight category according to the system with elimination after two defeats, divided into groups "A" and "B";
− for 6, 5, 4 or 3 athletes in a weight category, a round robin system is used;
− for 2 and 1 athletes in a weight category, the weight category is added to the next weight category.
Competitions are of a personal-team nature and is held with an overall team standings in the following weight categories:
- men (9): 60 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 75 kg, 80 kg, 90 kg, 105 kg, 125 kg, +125 kg;
- women (5): 55 kg, 65 kg, 75 kg, 85 kg, +85 kg.
Weighing takes place the day before the start of the competition within 90 minutes.
The team total is displayed by points for the total number of medals:
1st place – 12 points, 2nd place – 8 points, 3rd place – 5 points.
In case of equal points among two or more team, priority is determined by most number of 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. places.
The championship among men and women in the absolute weight category is of an individual nature.
Minimum weight: men - 90 kg, women - 75 kg.
Weighing takes place the day before the start of the competition within 90 minutes.
Participants grant organizers a right to take a photo, to film or otherwise use their
voice, appearance and name. Further, the content can be displayed, distributed or otherwise
used in merchandising and advertising to promote the sport in any media now known and
possible in the future. The rights to be granted indefinitely and without additional
compensation.
The final results (protocols) on paper and electronic form should be given in 2 (two) weeks after the sports event is over.
Insurance
Participation in the competitions is allowed only in case of presence a life and health insurance policy against accidents (original) for each person, which is submitted to the commission for registration and admission of participants.
Insurance fees of the athletes carry the sending organizations.
Safety
Competitions to be held in sport buildings, agreeable to the standards of corresponding standard rules of law, functioning in the territory of Russia and directed to provide public order and safety of participants and spectators.
Qualified medical personnel should present in the competition venue.
Financing
All costs connected with the preparation and holding of Championship, under the terms of the equity, carry the International Mas-wrestling Federation, All-Russian Mas-wrestling Federation, Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Culture, Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, ANO "World Center of Mas-wrestling" and the Mas-Wrestling Development Fund "Planet Mas-Wrestling".
The host country, the All-Russian Mas-wrestling Federation, together with the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, covers the costs of transportation from the Kazan International Airport and the Kazan Railway Station to the venue and back, as well as accommodation and three meals a day for participants from the national teams from November 20 to 26.
The costs of the Championship participants for obtaining entry visas to the territory of the Russian Federation are carry by the sending organizations.
Awarding
Top three athletes and coaches of the champions in each weight category to be awarded with medals and diplomas.
Top three team to be awarded with diplomas and cups.

To the Commission for admission of participants should be provided the national flag of the country (100x150 cm in a vertical position), the short variation of national anthem (1 verse and refrain) on electronic media, nominal and technical applications signed by the head of the national mas-wrestling federation and a doctor, as well as originals of the following documents for each athlete:
− passport, or other document certifying the citizenship of the participant;
− life and health insurance policy against accidents (original).
Visa
Delegations, which are needed VISA for entrance and stay on the territory of Russia, should send to the organizers a list of participants until August 1, 2026 for visa processing, indicating full names, gender, passport numbers (also their dates of issue and validity), dates of birth, a scanned copy of the first informative page of the passport.
Marketing and advertising
The Organizing Committee guarantees maintenance of Sponsor rights by the partners and sponsors of the International Mas-Wrestling Federation, appointed in the appropriate Agreements.
Media
The Organizing Committee guarantees accordance of the appropriate conditions of work on the event for accredited media representatives in accordance with the Statement of the International Mas-Wrestling Federation on Mass-Media.
This Regulation is the official challenge to the competition.
