Is Nalchik far away? Nalchik is near!
Tournament as a tournament, which there were many, nothing unusual, just another local competition, you might say. But no. This could be said in the old, pre-coronavirus times. Today, every sporting event is almost like a feat. I think the reasons are clear to everyone. The situation with COVID is different in different regions. In some places, sports facilities are just beginning to open, and in others, are being closed again. The overall picture is bleak.
And the efforts of the president of the Mas-Wrestling Federation of Kabardino-Balkaria Betal Gubzhev to gather like-minded people in Mas-Wrestling in Nalchik at these starts look all the more significant. Despite the difficult situation, there were many participants. Colleagues fr om the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Krasnodar region and Moscow responded to his call.
It is no secret that sports in our country rests on the activities of public non-profit organizations, that is, on the shoulders of enthusiasts, people who devoted to sports. Those who care about how young people grow up, what their future guidelines and values will be. Those who are not interested in building their lives without serving society.
The Gubzhev family has become such passionate Mas-Wrestling enthusiasts in Kabardino-Balkaria. The initiative of Betal's son to start developing a hitherto unknown sport "Mas-Wrestling" was supported by the whole family - mother, father, brother and sister. The teamwork paid off. It was in this North Caucasian republic wh ere became the first masters of sports of Russia in Mas-Wrestling: Timur Kardanov, Alim Bizhoev, Kristina Kochesokova, Alan Margushev, Zaurbi Argashokov. And this is in just a few years. This is a great motivation for young athletes who today took to the platform in the sport hall of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University.
Betal Gubzhev is doing a great job in his republic. His Club Legion is full of students. And judging by his attitude, Mas-Wrestling has taken root in the Caucasian land.
All those who come to the competition in Nalchik are greeted by our colleagues with Caucasian hospitality, with special sincerity. Therefore, everyone leaves here under a great impression not only of local attractions, but also of the warmth of the hosts of the competition. Mas-Wrestling gives every participant of the tournament held here a chance to see the greatest mountain peak here - Elbrus. It is the highest mountain in Europe. The cableway will take you 3,455 meters above sea level. Then you can climb the glacier on snowmobiles even higher - to an altitude of more than 4000 meters. It is an opportunity for all comers, not professional climbers. There is no such thing anywhere in the world. For those who do not know, we inform you that it takes about two and a half hours to fly from Moscow to Nalchik by plane. And, if you take care in advance, the airfare is not so much. Life values are now changing so quickly that it is worth cherishing every day lived, every new meeting, every new discovery.
Autumn in the Caucasus is warm and these days the weather indulged in the sun and high temperatures. Our competition were also held to match this background. The opening was colorful thanks to the students of the Institute of Art Culture.
