President Alexander Akimov's congratulations on World Mas-wrestling Day

27.06.2025
Dear friends!
Congratulations to all of you on World Mas-wresting Day!

Once, you discovered a new sport, previously unknown to you — mas-wrestling, originating from distant Yakutia. You loved it for its simplicity and complexity, for the equality of all on the platform, for the decisiveness of actions in the speed bouts. You demonstrated your extraordinary personal qualities, selflessly and wholeheartedly dedicating yourselves to promoting this unique sport in your countries, inspiring others to follow.

Exactly one month from now, you will leave your hometowns. You will fly away to meet friends on the hospitable Mongolian land. You will leave your parental home with a light heart because ahead of you is a meeting with your comrades and rivals in mas-wrestling. You have been preparing for this meeting for a long time, diligently training and perfecting your skills. And the meeting will live up to your expectations.

Flags of more than 40 countries will fly at the opening ceremony of the 7th World Championship in the ARA complex in Arkhangai. They will be carried in front of enthusiastic spectators by athletes from the following countries: Azerbaijan, Angola, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Benin, Brazil, Ghana, Georgia, Zambia, Egypt, Jordan, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Canada, Cameroon, China, Congo, Korea, Côte d'Ivoire, Kyrgyzstan, Morocco, Mongolia, Nigeria, UAE, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, Romania, Syria, Slovakia, Somalia, USA, Sierra Leone, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Czech Republic, Japan.

Alongside adults, our youth aged 16-17 will take the stage in Mongolia. This is extremely important for our future, the future of world mas-wrestling. Thus, we demonstrate the continuity of generations in our sport. After the older comrades, a numerous army of young men and women follows. They have worthy role models to emulate. We know each world champion, each hero from different countries and continents by name. They are our pride and glory! We look boldly ahead because we are full of serious ambitions – to make mas-wrestling an Olympic sport!

We live in a very complex, turbulent time when it is especially important for everyone to come together. The world is shaken by local conflicts that have a negative impact on all countries without exception. We are infinitely grateful to Mongolia for becoming today a focal point and guarantor of peace, friendship among nations, and a platform for unity and harmony. Iin this unique country with its distinctive culture and history rich in great events, national teams in mas-wrestling from Europe, North America, South America, Asia, and Africa are planning to arrive. This is a sign of the highest trust in our Mongolian colleagues.

Soon our dream will come true - we will gather all together again after overcoming so many difficulties. Some of you have experienced great uncertainty, after the torment of doubts, but still chose the only right path – the path to the top. To the top of spirit and strength! We will return home full of new emotions, some with victory, and some - without. Both winners and losers will we will definitely be clearly aware that we are all moving forward anyway. Because mas-wrestling is our life. And it cannot be without overcoming obstacles in achieving a common goal.

There is no doubt that on the magnificent platforms in Arkhangai, with the support of thousands of fans of Yakut mas-wrestling, you will demonstrate mutual respect and support for each other. This is the mission of mas-wrestling - to build bridges and unite nations, to bring young people together for a common better future.

We, the world's mas-wrestlers, are determined to reaffirm our commitment to the high Olympic ideals. We are ready to once again loudly declare in Mongolia: "Oh, sport! You are Peace!"

Dear friends! Today is our celebration and I sincerely wish everyone good health, fortitude and love in the name of life!
