Mongolian mas-wrestlers to be trained by Anatoly Baishev

13.05.2025
Today, an escort of vehicles left the Mongolian capital towards the Russian border.

This sports delegation headed by the honorary president of the Mongolian Mas-Wrestling Federation Erdenevaanchik Batbaator is heading to the birthplace of Mas-Wrestling - Yakutia. They will have to overcome a rather long and tiring journey, because the final destination of their voyage will not be the capital, but the Yakut village of Amga, where the famous majyny, the legendary Anatoly Baishev, lives and works. At his personal invitation, as a friendly gesture, promising Mas-Wrestlers of Mongolia are arriving on Yakut soil. The goal is a Mas-Wrestling training camp with Baishev himself in his new gym.

The Mongolian delegation will cover almost a day's journey from Ulaanbaatar to Irkutsk by car, then by plane to Yakutsk. Upon arrival, they will be taken to the crossing of the Lena River to be transported by hovercraft to the other bank for further travel to Amga.

At this time, one of the largest rivers in the world has begun to free itself from the ice shackles. The ice drift is slowly but surely approaching the capital of the republic. And it is quite possible that on this day it will pass in the Yakutsk region. A successful crossing depends entirely on the current state and mood of the Lena River. On the other side, in Nizhny Bestyakh, they will be met by Anatoly Baishev. Then again the journey on wheels and in about three to four hours they should arrive at their destination.

Their future mentor Anatoly Anatolyevich provides them with free accommodation and free training according to his method. At the same time, he warned that there will be no concessions for visiting athletes - they will train on equal terms with his other students, who, with their hard work in the gym, have already won world champion titles on the mas-wrestling platforms in different countries. The names of Amgintsev Dmitry Neustroev, brother and sister Egor and Tatyana Baishev are known to all fans of mas-wrestling around the world. "Hard in training - easy in battle" - this is exactly about them.

On May 24, St. Nicholas Day, the guys will have a short break. On this day, traditional horse races will take place. The Mongols are a nomadic people, and it is not new for them to see such a spectacle, but the guests will be shown the color with which they take place here.

At the end of the training, the Mongolians will undergo a baptism of fire in a real tough confrontation with the best Yakut mas-wrestlers, who will come together at the end of May to compete in the prestigious tournament of absolute champions of the Amginsky Ulus. The participation of foreign athletes will automatically raise the status of regional competitions to international.

Who dared to leave their native Mongolian steppes, tore themselves away, so to speak, from the umbilical cord and went to the Mecca of mas-wrestling – distant Amga? Let's name those who challenged themselves first of all and wanted to get out of their comfort zone and into the state of "I love pain":

- Tserentsogzol Purevsuren – bronze and silver medalist of the World Championship, Asian Champion, winner of the Shilinhot Cup, Mongolian Champion;

- Ikhbayar Buyandalay – bronze medalist of the World Championship, silver medalist of the Asian Championship, winner of the Shilinhot Cup in China, two-time Mongolian Champion;

- Tsetsgee Unurbat – silver medalist of the World Championship, silver medalist of the tournament at the Nomad Games, Asian Champion, bronze medalist of the Open European Championship, winner of the Shilinhot Cup in China, champion and medalist of national championships;

- Batbayar Sengedorj – bronze medalist of the Mongolian Championship, wrestler of the Arkhangai Athletes Association;

- Damdinsuren Baasansuren – bronze medalist of the Asian Championship, International BRICS+ Tournament and Mongolian Championship;

- Enkhbayar Orkhontamir – silver medalist of the World Championship and Asian Championship, bronze medalist of the Open European Championship among boys and girls, medalist of the Mongolian Championships.

The athletes are accompanied by the leadership of the national federation: the honorary president of the Mongolian Mas-Wrestling Federation, the director of the center for sports training and scientific medicine of the Mongolian national teams Erdenevaanchig Batbaatar and the federation advisers Bekhtulga Sangisuren and Khuderkhuu Enkhjargal.

During their stay in Yakutia, the officials of the national federation intend to meet with the Head of the Republic, heads of executive bodies and departments for physical culture and sports, as well as external relations to invite them as honorary guests of the VII World Mas-Wrestling Championship in late July-early August in Mongolia.

Let the friendship of athletes from different countries grow stronger! Let there be peace and harmony between peoples!
