Mongolia eagerly awaits friends in Arkhangai!
The delegation of the Mongolian Mas-wrestling Federation visited Yakutsk fr om May 15 to 20 to address current issues related to the organization of the Mas-wrestling World Championship and to invite honorary guests from the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). In response, the Secretary General of the IMWF, Director of the Autonomous Nonprofit Organization "World Mas-wrestling Center," Innokentiy Grigoriev, visited Mongolia from May 22 to 28. The purpose of his trip was to inspect the accommodation sites for participants of the upcoming championship in Arkhangai and the competition venues for compliance with the specified standards.
Innokentiy Yuryevich made sure that the preparatory work in Mongolia is proceeding according to all agreements and that the World Mas-wrestling Championships among adults and older juniors will take place within the deadlines we set. The competitions will be held at a stadium with a capacity of 4,000 spectators. The opening ceremony, according to the organizers' promise, will be grandiose. Numerous spectators will see a historical performance about the times of Genghis Khan's reign. The cultural part of the event will be adorned by world-class stars.
Currently, the construction of a yurt town next to the stadium is progressing rapidly, and sewage systems are being installed for common areas. The dining hall will be spacious, and the menu will be very diverse, with mandatory consideration of the taste preferences of representatives of different cultures. Accommodation in guest yurts and meals during the competition days will be provided by the host side. For those wishing to stay in familiar conditions, in standard hotel rooms, the service will be paid. Thus, five kilometers from the ethnographic town, there are hotels of various levels. To book hotel rooms, applications must be submitted in advance, as a large influx of tourists, participants in the cultural program, and mas-wrestling enthusiasts from neighboring countries is expected.
Arriving participants will be met at the airport of the capital of Mongolia. For this, it is extremely important for everyone to send copies of their airline tickets to the Organizing Committee for arranging receptions and farewells. We advise exchanging currency upon arrival at the airport, as travel expenses (hotel stops, meals, souvenirs) are covered by the arriving participants themselves.
If the arriving teams are large, they will be sent directly to Arkhangai. Smaller groups will be taken to a tourist base 70 km from Ulaanbaatar, wh ere they will wait for the others for further travel.
The journey to Arkhangai aimag is not short – 480 km, taking from 6 to 8 hours by bus with stops. Along the way, there will be an opportunity to see the Small Gobi and other attractions. Approximately after 270 km, there will be a stop for a hot meal. Please note that meals on the road are at your own expense.
In Arkhangai, you will experience a full immersion into the life of nomads. Accommodation will be separate – men and women will stay 3-4 people in one yurt. Everyone will live in close proximity to each other under the same conditions. Showers and toilets will be located separately.
From June to September, Mongolia has a very high tourist season. Therefore, it is better to purchase airline tickets in advance and submit the lists of teams for visa invitations well ahead of time.
Guests from 75 countries around the world can enter the country without obtaining an entry visa, but there are still countries for which this is required. More detailed information is available on the website https://en.consul.mn/visa/c/83.
Citizens of the following countries, who arrive for tourism purposes for up to 30 days, are exempt from visa requirements until the end of 2025: Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, United Kingdom, Hungary, Greece, Denmark, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, New Zealand, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Finland, France, Czech Republic, Estonia.
National mas-wrestling federations have the right to register only one team roster, with no more than 3 (three) athletes in each weight category. Participant eligibility will be based on citizenship, which is determined by the passport or identity card, the original of which must be presented to the commission during registration.
The Secretary General of the IMWF, Innokentiy Grigoriev, was generally satisfied with the results of his working visit. He highly appreciates the efforts of the chief organizer Erdenevaanchig Batbaatar and appeals to all colleagues in different countries to carefully read the updated International Mas-wrestling Rules once again to avoid misunderstandings during the competitions.
The World Mas-wrestling Championship will be broadcast live by two state television channels. It will also be available to viewers in several countries.
Welcome to the unique world of the great nomadic people! Mongolia eagerly awaits friends from different countries without restrictions!
