2026 AGT & KMWF ATLANTS "The Strength of a nation begins with its children and youth” International tournament

From 24 to 26 June 2026, the AGT & KMWF ATLANTS International Mas-Wrestling Tournament for students and children was held in Astana, the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on the campus of Saken Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University.

The tournament was organized by AGT GLOBAL with the support of Saken Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University.

The event became much more than a sporting competition. It evolved into an international platform that united sport, education, science, and cultural diplomacy, creating new opportunities for the development of youth sports, strengthening international cooperation, and promoting traditional national sports on the global stage.

Held under the inspiring motto “Summer of Strength, Determination and Unity,” the tournament demonstrated that modern sport is a powerful tool for developing leadership, promoting healthy lifestyles, educating future generations, and fostering strategic partnerships among universities, colleges, schools, and sports federations worldwide.

Mas-Wrestling — Strength of Tradition, Character, and Respect

The tournament brought together more than 80 athletes fr om Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), and Slovakia, representing 13 teams. Competitions were held across 18 weight categories, wh ere participants demonstrated not only exceptional physical strength but also resilience, strategic thinking, determination, sportsmanship, and mutual respect. Participating organizations included: Mas-Wrestling Federation of Mongolia; Mas-Wrestling Federation of Slovakia; Mas-Wrestling Federation of Osh Region; M.K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University; Arctic State Agrotechnological University (AGATU); Osh State University; Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University; Abai Region Geological Exploration College; School-Gymnasium No. 22 of Astana; Satpayev Representative Office of the Federation and Satpayev Youth Sports School (Ulytau Region); Suntar Ulus; Krestyakh Secondary School; I.G. Spiridonov Polytechnic School; Moruk Secondary School.

The international event included:

- international competitions for children, juniors, and university students;

- educational masterclasses conducted by leading coaches and sports experts;

- exchange of advanced coaching methodologies and best educational practices;

- discussions on innovative approaches to developing traditional sports;

- strengthening international cooperation among educational institutions and sports federations.

A key highlight of the programme was the educational masterclass entitled:

“Developing Children’s and Student Mas-Wrestling: Experience, Theory and Practice (Case Studies, Challenges and Lessons Learned).” The session focused on youth development, leadership education, coaching methodologies, and international collaboration in sport.

The masterclass featured distinguished speakers:

- Aisen Molukov — Master of Sport, coach of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Lecturer and Coach at the Arctic State Agrotechnological University;

- Alexander A. Zakharov — PhD in Pedagogy, Associate Professor, Honoured Coach of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Master of Sport;

- Semyon K. Mikhailov — Coach of Suntar Ulus and Secondary School Teacher.

The presentations generated significant interest among participants and coaches, covering modern athlete development, strategies for engaging children and youth in grassroots sport, and the role of traditional sports as an effective instrument for education, cultural preservation, and social responsibility.

AGT GLOBAL — Sport as a Platform for International Cooperation

AGT GLOBAL views sport as a strategic driver of sustainable development that integrates education, science, sports innovation, youth policy, and international diplomacy. The AGT & KMWF ATLANTS International Tournament served as a platform for strengthening partnerships among universities, colleges, schools, sports federations, and youth organizations from different countries.

Participants had the opportunity to:

- present innovative educational and sports development practices;

- exchange experience in athlete preparation and youth engagement;

- expand international academic and institutional partnerships;

- launch joint projects in sport, science, and youth policy;

- promote healthy lifestyles among children and young people.

AGT & KMWF ATLANTS International Tournament made a significant contribution to:

- building a strong, healthy, and intellectually developed generation;

- promoting Mas-Wrestling as a traditional national sport on the international stage;

- strengthening friendship and mutual understanding among young people from different countries;

- advancing sports diplomacy and humanitarian cooperation;

- preserving cultural and sporting heritage through youth participation in traditional sports.

The AGT & KMWF ATLANTS 2026 International Mas-Wrestling Tournament in Astana confirmed that sport has the power to unite nations, cultures, and generations. It is far more than a sporting competition—it is an international movement dedicated to raising a strong, educated, responsible, and globally minded generation capable of shaping the future through sport, education, innovation, and international cooperation.

AGT GLOBAL extends its sincere gratitude to all athletes, coaches, educational institutions, partners, volunteers, and supporters whose dedication contributed to the success of the tournament and the advancement of international youth sport. Together, we are building the sporting legacy of the 21st century, strengthening friendship among nations, and inspiring a new generation of leaders whose greatest values are strength of character, knowledge, unity, and mutual respect.

Tamerlan Mikhailov and Nikolai Kyundyaitsev, schoolchildren from the Suntarsky district of Yakutia, received grants for free tuition at the Kazakhstan Sports University in Astana, a tournament partner specializing in physical education and sports coaching for national sports, specifically mas-wrestling. This marks the beginning of work and implementation at the university to develop our sport.
