Angola supports the idea of creating a national mas-wrestling federation
Leticia Chioca, a graduate of the Ufa University of Science and Technology, came to a meeting with the Minister of Sport and Youth Mr. Rui Luis Falcao Pinto de Andrade to the relevant department with a request to support the idea of creating a national mas-wrestling federation. Her brother Zacarias Chioca established a remote connection with Luanda from Ufa.
The meeting was held in a businesslike atmosphere: all the details of further work were discussed with the Ministry's legal director, the secretary for work with federations, and a media specialist. Thus, for the official creation of a sports federation, there are certain requirements: at least five sections must be opened in the capital and at least three in the provinces. They can work in schools, universities, gyms and in collaboration with other sports. There is a lot of teamwork ahead. But if all the conditions are met, the new federation will receive financial support from the state. Great motivation. It opens up brilliant prospects.
The ministry warned that only one sports organization could receive funding, and to prevent other applicants, it would need to be legally registered. Then you can work calmly and train high-class athletes.
In order for the sections to work, its needed equipment, at least a jamb board and sticks. Mas-wrestling enthusiasts intend to manufacture it and then Zacarias can start distance learning of his countrymen in Portuguese.
Considering that Yakut martial arts is a completely new, unpromoted sport, the ministry has decided to accommodate this and will initially provide assistance to enthusiasts in popularizing and promoting mas-wrestling. Space will also be allocated for training and preparation of athletes who will subsequently join the Angolan national team to participate in international tournaments, including the World Mas-wrestling Championships.
In 2017, the leadership of the International Mas-wrestling Federation began to work among foreign students. Later, they were allowed to participate in our highest competitions – the World Championships, and began to take prizes. By acquiring professions and returning home, they become our ambassadors. Such was the Congolese Jarny Varnel Kimpedi, he headed the Mas-wrestling Federation of the Republic of the Congo. Egyptian students Ibrahim Mohamed and Ahmed Mohamed initiated the “Cup of Pharaoh” this year. There is a reason to be proud of these guys.
We wish our like-minded Angolans success in their endeavor. For its part, the International Mas-wrestling Federation will provide one-time assistance: at least two of the best athletes of this African country will take part in the Mas-wrestling World Championship in Kazan in November this year at the expense of the host country.
