Two continental mas-wrestling championships will be held at the Arnold South America

01.03.2026
The South American Mas-wrestling Championships will be held on April 25 in the North Exhibition Center of the most populated city not only of the country, and not even of the continent, but of the entire Southern Hemisphere.

The first one will be held in ten weight categories and is open, which is reflected in the name of the competition - the Open Mas-wrestling Championship of South America among men and women within the framework of the Arnold Sport Festival South America.

The second will be attended only by Latin American athletes who will challenge the right to be called the strongest on the continent - the Arnold Classic South America Mas-Wrestling Championship in the absolute category among men and women – 2026.

Both championships are part of the large-scale continental version of the Arnold Schwarzenegger multi-sport festival. Notably, mas-wrestling, which was previously featured at the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, USA, is no longer available. It is therefore particularly important to maintain our presence in Brazil.

The championships will see participation from athletes representing Brazilian states such as Amazonas, Amapá, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul, Rio de Janeiro, Santa Catarina, São Paulo, and Espírito Santo.

Additionally, the event serves as a qualifying platform for the VIII World Championship in Kazan and the Il Darkhan Team Cup in Yakutsk.

The South American national team will include athletes from Argentina, Bolivia, Uruguay, and Chile, competing against rivals from Afghanistan, Benin, Pakistan, the United States, Togo, France, and the Kyrgyzstan team led by Keldibek Ataybekov, renowned as one of the strongest teams worldwide.

The event will be covered by the national sports channel "Match-TV," with correspondent Ulyana Vishnyakova preparing to report live from São Paulo, ensuring extensive media coverage of this significant sporting occasion.
