2025 Open European Mas-wrestling Championship
among men and women
Aims and objectives
The 2025 Open European Mas-wrestling Championship among men and women is the official competition of the International Mas-wrestling Federation and is held to promote and develop mas-wrestling in the world and solves the following tasks:
- determination the strongest mas-wrestling athletes;
- improvement of sportsmanship of athletes;
- strengthening friendly sporting relationship among countries.
Date and venue
2025 Open European Mas-Wrestling Championship among men and women is held on November 6-10 in Cesta olympionikov 1271/28, 974 04 Banská Bystrica, Slovakia,
Days of arrival - on November 6-7, days of departure - November 9-10.
Competition program: *
November 6 (Thursday) - day of arrival
November 7 (Friday):
12.00-17.00 - registration and weighing of participants;
November 8 (Saturday) - competitive day
10.00-13.00 - preliminary matches;
14.00-14.30 – Grand opening ceremony;
14.30 -19.00 - preliminary, semifinal and final matches;
19.30- 20.00 - awarding ceremony.
November 9-10 (Monday) - days of departure.
*Changes are possible in the competition program.
Management
The general management of the preparation and conduct of the championship is carried out by the International Mas-Wrestling Federation, Slovak Mas-Wrestling Association, Ministry of Sports and Tourism of the Slovak Republic, ANO “World Mas-Wrestling Center”, the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) “Republican Center for National Sports named after Vasily Manchaary”.
Direct responsibility of holding competition carried on the Ground Jury, approved by the International Mas-wrestling Federation.
Participation terms
Allowed to participate athletes aged of 18 (at least before the day of competitions) and over, passed medical examination and permitted to engage in power sports by the application of the National Mas-wrestling Federations or authorized bodies. An athlete must have a passport or other document certifying citizenship of the country he/she represents at the competitions.
National Mas-Wrestling Federations are entitled to be represented up to 34 (thirty-four) athletes, but no more than 2 (two) athletes in a weight category, All-Russian Mas-Wrestling Federation is entitled to be represented up to 17 (seventeen) athletes, but no more than 1 (one) athlete in a weight category. Slovak Mas-Wrestling Association as the host country is given the right to nominate up to 51 (fifty-one) athletes, but no more than 3 (three) athletes in a weight category.
National federations are recommended to include in their delegation 1 (one) referee of the corresponding referee’s category to work as part of the judging panel of the competition by agreement of the International Mas-wrestling Federation.
Participants are required to perform in sportswear No.1 or No.3 in accordance with the International Rules of Mas-wrestling.
Conditions for holding competition and determination of winners
Competitions are of individual-team nature and are held according to the current 2025 International Mas-wrestling Rules.
Depending on the number of participants in the weight categories in the competition system, changes are possible according to the competition rules:
− for 7 or more athletes in the weight category according to the system with elimination after two defeats, divided into groups "A" and "B";
− for 6, 5, 4 or 3 athletes in a weight category, a round robin system is used;
− for 2 and 1 athlete in a weight category, the weight category is added to the next weight category.
Weight categories
- men: 60 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 75 kg, 80 kg, 85 kg, 90 kg, 105 kg, 125 kg and 125+ kg;
- women: 55 kg, 60 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 75 kg, 85 kg, and 85+ kg.
The team total is displayed by points for the total number of medals:
1st place – 12 points, 2nd place – 8 points, 3rd place – 5 points.
In case of equal points among two or more team, priority is determined by the largest number of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. places.
Participants grant organizers a right to take a photo, to film or otherwise use their voice, appearance and name. Further, the content can be displayed, distributed or otherwise used in merchandising and advertising to promote the sport in any media now known and possible in the future. The rights to be granted indefinitely and without additional compensation.
The final results (protocols) on paper and electronic form should be given in 2 (two) weeks after the sports event is over.
Insurance
Participation in the competitions is allowed only in case of presence of life and health insurance against accidents (original), which is submitted to the commission for registration and admission of participants.
Insurance fees of athletes carry the sending organizations.
Safety
Competitions to be held in sport buildings, agreeable to the standards of corresponding standard rules of law, functioning in the territory of Slovakia and directed to provide public order and safety of participants and spectators.
Qualified medical personnel should present in the competition venue.
Financing
All costs connected with preparation and holding of competition, under the terms of equity, carry International Mas-wrestling Federation, Slovak Mas-Wrestling Association, Ministry of Sports and Tourism of the Slovak Republic, State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) «Republican Center of National Sports named after Vasiliy Manchaary», ANO «World Mas-wrestling Center» and Mas-Wrestling Development Fund «Planet Mas-Wrestling».
The costs of sending participants (travel, accommodation, meals, insurance, visa costs) are carry by sending organizations.
The Slovak Mas-Wrestling Association provides free transfers from the international airports of Bratislava and Budapest to Banská Bystrica and back for members of the national teams of the participating countries.
Awarding
Top three athletes in each weight category to be awarded with medals, diplomas.
Top three team to be awarded with diplomas and cups.
Applications
Preliminary applications are submitted until October 1, 2025 at the addresses:

- Slovak Mas-Wrestling Association: janmatej47@gmail.com, maswrestlingbb@gmail.com.
To the commission for admission of participants should be provided the national flag of the country (100x150 cm in a vertical position), the short variation of national anthem (1 verse and refrain) on electronic media, nominal and technical applications signed by the head of the national mas-wrestling federation and a doctor, as well as originals of the following documents for each athlete:
- passport, or other document certifying the citizenship of the participant;
- life and health insurance against accidents (original).
Visa
The delegations of countries that need to have a visa for staying in the Slovak Republic must send a list of participants with comprehensive information to the organizers in advance.
Marketing and advertising
The Organizing Committee guarantees maintenance of sponsor rights by the partners and sponsors of the International Mas-wrestling Federation, appointed in the appropriate Agreements.
Media
The Organizing committee guarantees accordance of the appropriate conditions of work on the event for accredited media representatives in accordance with the Statement of the International Mas-wrestling Federation on Mass-Media.
This Regulation is the official challenge to the competition.
