the VI World Nomad Games 2026

Aims and objectives

Mas-wrestling competitions as part of the sports program the VI World Nomad Games 2026 (hereinafter competition) is the official event of the International Mas-wrestling Federation and is held to promote and develop mas-wrestling in the world and solves the following tasks:

- preservation of the traditions of physical activity of the peoples of the world;

- determination of the strongest mas-wrestling athletes;

- improvement of athletes sportsmanship;

- strengthening friendly sports ties between the two countries.

Date and venue

Competition is held from August 31 to September 6, 2026 in Issyk-Kul region, the grand opening in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic.

Arrival day – August 29, departure day – September 7, 2026.

Management

General management of preparation and holding of competition is carried out by the International Mas-wrestling Federation, Mas-wrestling Federation of Kyrgyzstan, Secretariat of WNG and Organizing Committee of WNG.

Direct responsibility of holding the competitions carried on the Organizing Committee of the VI WNG and Grand Jury, approved by the International Mas-wrestling Federation and Secretariat of WNG. 

Participation terms

Competitions are held among men and women.

Weight categories:

- men: up to 70 kg, up to 90 kg, absolute weight category over 90 kg;

- women: up to 55 kg, up to 75 kg, absolute weight category over 75 kg. 

Weighing takes place the day before the start of the competition within 90 minutes.

Allowed to participate athletes aged of 18 (at least before the day of competitions) and over, passed medical examination and permitted to engage in power sports by the application of the National Mas-Wrestling Federations or authorized bodies. An athlete must have a passport or other document certifying citizenship of the country he/she represents at the competitions.

A National Mas-wrestling Federations are entitled to be represented up to 6 (six) athletes: 3 (three) in men’s weight category and 3 (three) in women’s weight category.

National Federations are recommended to include in their delegation the referees of the corresponding category to work as part of the judging panel of the competition (by the agreement of the International Mas-wrestling Federation).

Participants are required to perform in sportswear No.1 or No.3 in accordance with the rules of the International Mas-wrestling Federation. 

All members of the delegations of the participating countries should take part in the opening ceremony of the WNG and march in the national dress of their country. 

Conditions for holding competitions and determination of winners

Competition is held according to the current International Mas-wrestling Rules. Depending on the number of participants in the weight categories, in the competition system changes are possible according to the competition rules:

− for 7 or more athletes in the weight category according to the system with elimination after two defeats, divided into groups "A" and "B";

− for 6, 5, 4 or 3 athletes in a weight category, a round robin system is used;

− for less than 3 athletes in a weight category, the weight category is added to the next weight category.

Participants grant organizers a right to take a photo, to film or otherwise use their
voice, appearance and name. Further, the content can be displayed, distributed or otherwise
used in merchandising and advertising to promote the sport in any media now known and
possible in the future. The rights to be granted indefinitely and without additional
compensation.

The final results (protocols) on paper and electronic form should be given in 2 (two) weeks after the sports event is over. 

Insurance

Participation in the competitions is allowed only in case of presence a life and health insurance policy against accidents (original) for each person, which is submitted to the commission for registration and admission of participants.

Insurance fees of the athletes carry the sending organizations.  

Safety

Competitions to be held in sport buildings, agreeable to the standards of corresponding standard rules of law, functioning in the territory of Kyrgyz Republic and directed to provide public order and safety of participants and spectators.

Qualified medical personnel and ambulance car should present in the competition venue.

Financing

All costs connected with the preparation and holding of competitions, under the terms of the equity, carry the Organizing Committee of WNG, Secretariat of WNG, International Mas-wrestling Federation and Mas-wrestling Federation of Kyrgyzstan.

The costs of transfer from the international airport and railway station of Issyk-Kul region to the venue and back, accommodation and three meals a day for up to 8 participants (6 athletes, 2 coaches) of the national teams from August 31 to September 07 are borne by the host party - with the organizing committee of the VI World Nomad Games and the International Secretariat of the World Nomad Games.

The travel expenses of the participants of the competition to Bishkek and back, as well as the costs of obtaining entry visas to the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic, are borne by sending organization. 

Awarding

Top three athletes and coaches of the champions in each weight category to be awarded with medals and diplomas of WNG Organizing Committee.

To the Commission for admission of participants should be provided the national flag of the country (100x150 cm in a vertical position), the short variation of national anthem (1 verse and refrain) on electronic media, nominal and technical applications signed by the head of the national mas-wrestling federation and a doctor, as well as originals of the following documents for each athlete:

− passport, or other document certifying the citizenship of the participant;

− life and health insurance policy against accidents (original). 

Visa

Delegations, which are needed VISA for entrance and stay on the territory of Kyrgyz Republic, should send to the organizers a list of participants until July 1, 2026 for visa processing, indicating full names, gender, passport numbers (also their dates of issue and validity), dates of birth, a scanned copy of the first informative page of the passport. 

Marketing and advertising

The Organizing Committee guarantees maintenance of Sponsor rights by the partners and sponsors of the International Mas-wrestling Federation, appointed in the appropriate Agreements.  

Media

The Organizing Committee guarantees accordance of the appropriate conditions of work on the event for accredited media representatives in accordance with the Statement of the International Mas-wrestling Federation on Mass-Media.  

This Regulation is the official challenge to the competition.
