The Calendar Plan draft of International Mas-Wrestling Events for 2025 was discussed and approved on November 29 at the meeting of the Presidium of the MWF in Bishkek. According to the MWF Charter, further by a general vote of representatives of the MWF member countries at the Conference on December 23, the intentions were unanimously approved.
The highest mas-wrestling competitions - the World Championship among men and women and the World Championship among boys and girls aged 16-17/born in 2008-2009 - were taken over by the Mas-Wrestling Federation of Mongolia, providing transfer fr om the Ulaanbaatar airport to the Arkhangai aimag in the central part of the country and back, accommodation in comfortable yurts and three meals a day fr om natural products for all participants from the first squads of the youth and adult national teams of the MWF member countries. Two coaches and one judge from each participating country can also count on the above benefits. The second (third) teams and the rest of the staff - at their own expense.
The World Championships will be held from July 30 to August 3. The competitions will be held on August 1 and 2 in the open air with a huge number of spectators. We strongly advise all fans of mas-wrestling not to miss the main and unique event of 2025! A grandiose sports and cultural event of world scale with the participation of first-rate stars is expected. Participants and guests will be completely immersed in the amazing world of nomadic people. The organizers promise an unprecedented reception.
The World Championship among veterans - men and women will be hosted by the Greek Wrestling Federation from May 14 to 18 - the most favorable time of the year. Bright sun and blue sea will be the background for meetings on the mas-wrestling platform of veterans from all over the world. The event will be held in Loutraki during the days of large-scale Corporate Games with the participation of 600-800 athletes in various sports. On May 15, our athletes will take part in the grand opening parade of the Games together with everyone else. Note: the age of veterans - mas-wrestlers is from 40 to 50 years. For the complete equality of participants, a new format for holding competitions is being initiated for the first time - individual championship under the flag of the MFM without designation of countries, as was customary in ancient times in Hellas.
All European Mas-Wrestling Championships in three age categories + Absolute Championship of the Continent won the Georgian Mas-Wrestling Federation in April. The format of the championships, except for the Absolute, is open. A transfer will be organized for arriving participants from the cities of Tbilisi and Kutaisi to the resort town of Tskaltubo, which is covered with greenery in winter and summer, wh ere the best hotels and the most delicious Georgian cuisine are. The competitions will be held in the Sports Palace. Accommodation is in the economy version in hotels approximately 50 m fr om the venue. Georgia is famous for its natural beauty and Caucasian hospitality. The organizers promise a cultural program - an excursion to places of interest.
The North American Championship in the Absolute Weight Category among men and women will be held on May 24 in Fort Wayne, USA. Responsible - Odd Haugen and John Charles O'Connor. The Open North American Championship among men and women is planned to be held on July 12 in Calgary, Canada. The name indicates its open format, which is why mas-wrestlers from different countries are invited. Accommodation is on the campus of a local college with convenient transport logistics. We ask those who wish to take care of obtaining entry visas in advance, since from the experience of preparing the tournament last year we know that this process takes a long time. It is worth buying plane tickets in advance, because the championship will be held during the world-famous Stampede Calgary cowboy festival - the largest open-air event in the world, with more than 120 years of history, wh ere up to one and a half million tourists flock.
The Pan-American Open Mas-Wrestling Championships for Men and Women and the Pan-American Open Mas-Wrestling Championships for Men and Women are planned for September in Santiago, Chile. The organizer, the Chilean Mas-Wrestling Federation, which is just starting its long journey, asks all friends of the Pan-American bloc countries to support these events: Canada, USA, Mexico, Brazil, Uruguay, Cuba, Venezuela, Paraguay, Ecuador, Bolivia, Argentina and Chile. Transfer fr om San Bernardo Airport, accommodation and meals for the participants will be the sole responsibility of each sports delegation. The Chilean Federation will do everything possible to minimize the costs of these items. Snacks and water will be provided free of charge during the competition. A physiotherapist and massage therapist will also be available for the athletes. Cultural integration is not excluded - participation in national folklore events and trips to iconic places in Santiago.
The Asian Championships in three age categories and the absolute continental championship will be held in Goa, India, in October. This was stated by the member of the Presidium of the IMWF Omarmukhtar Tamboli. All competitions will be held only for athletes from Asian countries. The curator is the president of the Asian Mas-Wrestling Federation Ilgam Kadyrov.
International mas-wrestling tournaments.
Traditionally, the year will start with the US Mas-Wrestling Federation. The All-American Championship will be held on January 26 and is open. Everyone is invited!
The history of Mas-Wrestling within the Arnold Schwarzenegger Festival has more than a decade of history thanks to the legendary Odd Haugen. Mas-Wrestling tournaments at this prestigious venue have become an excellent advertisement for our sport. Now they are held regularly in the USA and Brazil. This year, in Columbus, USA, the international tournament will be held from February 27 to March 2, and in Sao Paulo, Brazil - from April 4 to 6.
On July 11, the Viking Challenge Mas-Wrestling Tournament at Fefor Power Week in Fefor, Norway, will hopefully bring together participants from Scandinavian countries.
An absolute novelty will be the international competitions among the younger group of athletes – boys and girls of 2010-2011, which will be held within the framework of the comprehensive Games of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the city of Ganja, Azerbaijan, in October. The number of participating countries will be limited according to the Regulations of the Games.
The year in international tournaments will be closed by Odd Haugen, who will hold the Olympia Championship under the auspices of the World Alliance of United Mas-Wrestling within the framework of the Festival of the same name in Las Vegas on October 11-12.
